PROJECT: Youth – Media Network for reforms

Organization: I would like to be in the EU (Ja bih u EU), Bosnia and Herzegovina. Associate partner: Media and Civil Society Development Foundation „Mediacentar“ (Sarajevo).

Project: Youth – Media Network for reforms.

The Youth-Media Network Project is designed to empower CSOs and young people in the Western Balkans to actively engage in structured dialogues on public policies crucial to youth. Addressing issues ranging from employment, education, and environmental policies to sexual and reproductive health, youth participation, and cultural engagement, this initiative is important for fostering youth involvement in policy-making.

Key results achieved:

  • Enhanced cooperation between youth, CSO representatives, and media professionals from Bosnia and Herzegovina through the establishment of the Youth-Media Network, bringing together more than 80 members – young people, CSOs representatives and media professionals.
  • Enhanced the capacities of 80 CSO representatives, youth activists, and media professionals by strengthening their understanding of the role of media in shaping and reporting on public policies, as well as their skills in organizing advocacy campaigns, promoting media literacy, critically assessing media content, and building effective networks.
  • Raised awareness among young people and CSOs about the importance of free and independent media for a democratic society, the role of media in promoting diversity, tolerance, and intercultural understanding, the ability to recognize manipulation, stereotypes, and disinformation, the importance of ethical and responsible journalism in decision-making processes, and the significance of youth voices in local communities.
