Serbia Without Illegal Work – Enhancing the Role of Inspections in Preventing Undeclared Employment

Within “More Efficient Role of Labor Inspection in Fight Against Undeclared Work” project realized April 1 – November 30, 2014, with the support of Solidar Suisse – Office in Belgrade, Center for Democracy Foundation developed a practical policy proposal has developed proposal for practical policy “Serbia Without Illegal Work – Enhancing the Role of Inspections in Preventing Undeclared Employment” contributing to the planning of labor inspections efficiency improvement in fight against undeclared work.
Improved cooperation between labor inspection and exchange of information with other institutions, enhancement of contemporary communication with employer, employees and other entities using their services, continuation of collaboration with labor inspections in other countries of EU and the region, are some of the measures suggested by this Proposal in order to achieve best results in undeclared work. In addition, improved informing of citizens about the results of Labor Inspectorate work on reducing this occurrence will achieve additional positive effects. Our goal is to create a network for support of recommended ways of improvement of Labor Inspectorate efforts in fighting of undeclared work.
Practical policy proposal, which can be supported by all interested parties, is a result of detailed analysis and consultative meetings with representatives of Labor Inspectorate, unions, Union of Employers of Serbia, International Labor Organization, non-governmental organizations, as well as representatives of academic community.
