The Center for Democracy Foundation, with immeasurable sorrow and grief, bids farewell to its founder, long-serving President of the Board of Directors, mentor, and above all, a dear friend, Prof. Dr. Dragoljub Mićunović. With his passing, society has lost one of its most significant figures in the fight for democracy, a modern Serbia, and European values.
For all of us at the Center for Democracy Foundation, Professor Mićunović was not only an intellectual authority – he was a man of inexhaustible energy, kind words, and unwavering faith in a better future. In times of crisis and social turbulence, he taught us that dialogue and tolerance are the only right path, and that there can be no alternative to the defense of human dignity and freedom. His passion and dedication were inspired and directed toward youth, only strengthening his belief in their agency, education and critical thinking, deeply convinced that only free-thinking individuals can build a modern and democratic Serbia.
Professor Mićunović’s lifelong dream was to see Serbia as an equal member of the European family. This vision remains an obligation for all of us at the Foundation – to continue the mission for the values to which he dedicated his entire life.
