The return of women to the labour market (2006-2007)
The project was intended for unemployed women between the ages of 35 to 55 years of age from Belgrade who wanted to return to the labour market, improve their work quality and their professions. They attended a general business course in the form of a 5-week training programme, after which they were given the option of choosing a 3-week specialised course – Social services training or Tourism agent and broker training. Upon completion of the programme, meetings were organised with employers from within these two sectors. For each group of 60 participants, the programme lasted two months. Three programmes were held in total, with the attendance of 180 participants.
Project Statistics:
- 316 candidates applied
- 180 participants attended the two-month programme
- Over 960 training and workshop hours were held during the 3 two-month programmes
- Upon completion of the programme, approximately 30% of the participants found employment, 10% began their own businesses, and a group of participants formed their own NGO called "Together, together".
By working on this project with the partner organisation "Equal Opportunities", the Foundation established a wide network of associates, including the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Council for Gender Equality, the National Employment Service, and local municipal governments in Belgrade, municipal centres for social work and others.
