A street campaign was organised within the framework of the "Ripples" project on 28th April, 2014 in the centre of Aleksinac, the location being popularly referred to as "the Fountain".

The campaign was organised between the hours of 15.00 and 17.00, when the organisers estimated that the highest concentration of the public would be present, people returning home from work, youths on their way home from school, the unemployed, pensioners, etc.

Participating in the campaign were six young volunteers from the Youth Club which informally exists within the Creative Development Society. Representatives from three NGO’s: "The Real World" parents with special needs children Association, the "Local Initiative" Association and the "Jezero" Women’s Association from the village of Bovan were also involved in the street campaign. The event was attended by a representative from Aleksinac’s local government.

Additionally, aiding the campaign were Syndicate representatives; eight workers who had been laid off in the three months prior to the campaign. They attended not only as representatives of the Syndicate, but also as volunteers, supporting the event. Their support was also mirrored in their organising the attendance of former colleagues from the company which had previously laid them off. The public reacted to what was highlighted by representatives of the NVO sector, especially the Syndicate:

"Every initiative made to aid the worker and fight for the rights of the worker is pre-destined to fail because our system still does not function as it should. We still do not have anyone to protect the worker."

"It’s all very well that you have organised this campaign, but is there anyone of authority here to hear what has been said?"

During the event, 114 members of the public signed the Declaration for Decent Work.

The local radio station, "Radio Aleksinac" followed the campaign and all photos taken have been published on their Facebook page. In addition, the local television station, ALT TV filmed the campaign and this video material was used to fill in a report prior to 1st May, when the principals of decent work were read and the public was invited to visit the crnonabelo.com portal. Two days after the campaign was organised, the project’s coordinator Ms. Snežana Živadinović appeared as a guest on the local morning television programme. The topic of discussion was the "Ripple" project and the campaign organised.
