Regional Youth Dialogue for Europe – RYDE
The third National Youth Policy Lab on Culture and Cultural Heritage was held on December 17 via the Zoom platform. The session was attended by representatives of cultural institutions, a representative from the Ministry of Tourism and Youth, youth representatives, and independent experts in the field of culture.
The discussion focused on the final recommendations for improving cultural policies for youth, which will be addressed to public institutions, with a focus on:
• Adoption of a Culture Strategy in the Republic of Serbia that foresees greater youth participation in cultural life and aligns with the National Youth Strategy 2023-2030
• Increased financial resources for culture
• Encouraging local governments to adopt youth-oriented cultural policies
• Integration of cultural education into schools
• Promoting youth volunteering in cultural institutions
• Establishing partnerships between CSOs and youth offices for participation in cultural programs
The goals of the youth sessions on culture and cultural heritage, held at the national level, are:
- To improve the structural dialogue between youth and decision makers
- To jointly formulate recommendations to improve public policies relevant to youth in the field of culture and cultural heritage in the Republic of Serbia
- To strengthen youth engagement in cultural initiatives and activities
The Youth Policy Labs on Culture and Cultural Heritage is facilitated by Vesna Marjanovic, Secretary General of Europa Nostra Serbia.
Policy labs are carried out within the three-year project “Regional Youth Dialogue for Europe”, supported by the European Union.
