Debate in Veliko Gradište: What Flows Through the Pek River?
The Policies Beneficial to All - Improving Monitoring of the Impact of Economic Policies on Society project
On 14 October 2022, the Center for Democracy Foundation organised the following debate in Veliko Gradište: What Flows Through the Pek River?
Given the significance of environmental preservation, as a precondition to the sustainable development of any community, this debate was an attempt to investigate key assumptions and issues of importance to the public health of the inhabitants and local municipalities through which the Pek River flows. This expansive dialogue gave us a platform through which to consider proposals, conclusions and possible recommendations for resolving a potentially extensive environmental issue.
Partaking in the discussion were: Iskra Krstić, Organization for Political Ecology - Polekol / Right to Water; Ljubinka Blažević, Ecological Association PINKUM; Miroslav Petrović, Udruženje Velikogradištanska gitarijada (in English: Battle of the Bands Association of Veliko Gradište); Aleksandar Stefanović, Activist; Bogdan Milić, Local Action Group; Nataša Vučković, Center for Democracy Foundation, and others.
The Policies Beneficial to All - Improving Monitoring of the Impact of Economic Policies on Society is a project which the Center for Democracy Foundation instigates in 2021 and 2022 with the support of the Open Society Foundation Serbia.
