Labour rights are our Rights
Degradation of labour and social rights, insufficient involvement of civil society organizations in the creation, implementation and monitoring of labour and social rights reforms, as well as the need for connecting and joint action of trade unions and civil society organizations were the challenges identified for 2020, before the COVID-19 crisis and introduction of the state of emergency. The circumstances have changed but the challenges are remaining the same. The advance of economic and social rights and the advocate for accountable and efficient institutions is the mission of the Center for Democracy Foundation, and that is realized through the project Labor Rights are our Rights.
Analysis of the regulations and preparation of recommendations for improvement, as well as analysis of the environment, the key issues, activities of the state, the European Union, will be regular activities of the Center for Democracy Foundation. With data-based analyzes, we will support trade unions and civil society organizations in improvement of position of the citizens in Serbia. The Center for Democracy Foundation blog has been launched, with stories /comments on the current situation in society that will be published every Thursday.
The Working Group of the National Convention on EU for Chapter 19 - Social Policy and Employment will continue with its activities and will discuss the impact of the epidemic on labour rights, on the labour market, the implementation of social protection of disadvantaged groups at online meetings, in order to make recommendations and draw conclusions.
The project is supported by the Olof Palme International Center.
