Nevena Novaković is a sociologist born in 1997 in Belgrade. She is currently employed as a junior research assistant at the Institute of Social Sciences, preparing her doctoral thesis in the field of the sociology of culture and arts. She completed her undergraduate studies in sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, where she also successfully defended her master’s thesis at the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology. Her inexhaustible interest in understanding society, as well as her desire to make a real contribution to contemporary issues, naturally led her to field research work and awakened her passion for field studies.
Since 2018, she has been actively participating in major research projects conducted by the Institute for Sociological Research, the European Social Survey (ESS), the Bureau for Social Research, and CeSID. Today, in addition to these projects, she works on the Panel of the Institute of Social Sciences and her own research initiatives.
Her work with the Center for Democracy Foundation has provided her with the opportunity to apply and concretize her research through proposals for real policies and steps toward solving widespread social problems.
She speaks and writes fluently in English and has a working knowledge of French.
