Improving services of public interest in local communities in order to better quality of life
40% of municipalities in Serbia lack public transportation – that’s one million people! We have to do better with services of public interest in local communities if we expect quality of life to improve. According to data compiled by the State Audit Institution Report (SAI), 56 local self-governments or approximately 40% municipalities and towns in Serbia lack public transportation. Roughly 1,000,000 inhabitants are forced to use their own cars or taxi services when travelling between their villages and the municipal centres or to other inhabited areas.
